Workout of the day

Today we’re focusing on building strength and improving mobility with a snatch balance and overhead squat combo. This will help you get more confident and stable under the bar.

The workout of the day consists of:

5 sets of the following: A. Snatch Balance - 5 reps B. Overhead Squat - 5 reps

  • Perform A immediately followed by B.
  • Rest 2 minutes between sets.

Scaling

Scale weight as necessary. Aim for technique over weight. Use a PVC pipe or empty bar if form needs work.

No equipment

If no barbell: Use two water bottles, soup cans, or similar items for the overhead positions. Perform single-arm Dumbbell Overhead Squats instead.

Warmup

  • 3 sets of 10 PVC Pass Throughs
  • 10 Arm Circles each direction
  • 3 sets of 5 Overhead Squats with PVC
  • 10 Air Squats
  • 200m Run or 1 min Jump Rope

Cooldown

  • 5 mins Easy Jog or Walk
  • 2 mins Child’s Pose
  • 1 min Shoulder Stretch each side
  • 2 mins Forward Fold
