Ready to fire up those leg muscles? Get ready for a classic leg workout with a twist. This one’s all about pushing through every rep with good form.

The workout of the day consists of:

6 rounds for time of:

  • 8-6-4-2 Reps of Back Squats
  • 200m Run after each set of squats

Weights:

  • RX: 200 lb / 90 kg

Scaling

  • Beginners: 95 lb / 43 kg
  • Intermediate: 135 lb / 61 kg
  • Reduce run to 100m if needed

No equipment

If no weights: Use backpack filled with books or water jugs If no track: Substitute running with high knees in place or jump rope for 60 seconds

Warmup

5-minute light jog

  • 10 Air Squats
  • 10 Lunges (each leg)
  • 5 Jump Squats
  • Stretch: Quad Stretch, Hamstring Stretch

Cooldown

5-minute walk

  • Stretch: Quad Stretch, Hamstring Stretch, Calf Stretch
