Workout of the day

Get ready to channel your inner Norse God with ‘Thor’s Thunder Thursday’! This workout will have you smashing those sledge hammer strikes and powering through ring push-ups. Ready, set, bring the thunder!

The workout of the day consists of:

5 rounds for time of:

  • 15 Ring Push-ups
  • 20 Sledge Hammer Strikes (10 per side)

Scaling

Ring Push-ups:

  • Scale 1: Incline Push-ups using a Box or Bench
  • Scale 2: Knee Push-ups Sledge Hammer Strikes:
  • Scale 1: Use a lighter Sledge Hammer
  • Scale 2: Medicine Ball Slams 20 lbs (9 kg)

No equipment

Ring Push-ups:

  • Do Regular Push-ups or Incline Push-ups using sturdy chairs or a coffee table. Sledge Hammer Strikes:
  • Use a household item like a sturdy broomstick and mimic the movement or perform 20 Mountain Climbers (10 per side) instead.

Warmup

  1. 400m Run / or 2 minutes of High Knees in Place
  2. 3 Rounds of:
    • 10 Arm Circles Forward and Backward
    • 10 Cat-Cow Stretches
    • 10 Scapular Push-ups
    • 10 Air Squats
  3. 3 Rounds of:
    • 5 Incline Push-Ups
    • 5 Jumping Jacks
    • 5 PVC Pass-Throughs or Towel Pass-Throughs

Cooldown

  1. 400m Walk / or 2 minutes of slow high knees
  2. 3 Rounds of:
    • 20 Seconds of Shoulder Stretch Overhead
    • 20 Seconds of Chest Stretch in Doorway
    • 20 Seconds of Child’s Pose
    • 20 Seconds of Forward Fold
